Suchen Christine Lim is the first Singapore writer and the first woman to win the Singapore Literature Prize for her third novel, Fistful of Colours. She has received the Fulbright Scholarship to attend the International Writers Program at the University of Iowa, where she was also Writer-in-Residence in 2000. Her most recent novel is A Bit of Earth (2001).
