The festival will be officially opened by the Mayor of South East District. This will be followed by a reading of poetry by Marjorie Evasco, Goenawan Mohamad, Eddin Khoo, John Mateer, Leonard Schwartz, local poets Kirpal Singh, Paul Tan and Cyril Wong, and students from Victoria Junior College.
